The Celestial Knowledge
The Art of Time
R$70.00
The Celestial Knowledge: The Art of Time is a work of intellectual restitution of astrology as a traditional symbolic science, grounded in cosmology, metaphysics, and the history of ideas. Far removed from fragmented technical manuals or merely psychological approaches, the book reconstructs the philosophical foundation of astrological language, restoring to it ontological density, conceptual rigor, and internal coherence.
Ronaldo Castro repositions astrology within the Liberal Arts, engaging with Plato, Aristotle, Neoplatonism, medieval Scholasticism, and modern currents of traditional thought. The work clearly articulates the distinction between sign and constellation, between indication and determination, between symbolic prediction and mechanistic causalism, directly confronting the misunderstandings that have impoverished contemporary astrological practice.
Throughout the book, the reader encounters not only a historical and epistemological reflection, but also a structured celestial grammar capable of guiding the reading of the chart as a living symbolic organism — integrated by cycles, rhythms, axes, and correspondences. The Celestial Knowledge: The Art of Time offers no interpretative shortcuts: it demands formation, intellectual responsibility, and fidelity to tradition.
It is, therefore, a fundamental work for astrologers who understand their practice not as an isolated technique, but as a path of knowledge situated between number and symbol, between the observed sky and contemplated meaning. However, this work is even more important for skeptics than for believers.
The Celestial Knowledge: The Art of Time is not a book of easy persuasion — nor does it seek to defend astrology in the terms of modern scientism. On the contrary, the work begins with a rigorous critique of the epistemological impoverishment brought about by modernity, questioning the exclusivity of the causal-mechanistic model as the sole legitimate criterion of knowledge.
Ronaldo Castro demonstrates that a large part of the objections to astrology are, in fact, directed at its popular caricature rather than at its historical, philosophical, and symbolic foundations. The book carefully distinguishes astrology from divination, correspondence from causality, and symbol from superstition — establishing a serious debate about the limits of science, reason, and language.
Throughout the work, astrology is presented as a hermeneutics of the cosmos, comparable, in intellectual status, to other forms of symbolic reading of reality — such as mythology, ancient philosophy, and certain contemporary approaches in psychology and phenomenology. It is not a matter of denying modern science, but of questioning its claim to totality.
For the skeptical reader, The Celestial Knowledge: The Art of Time offers an honest challenge: to reconsider whether every form of knowledge must be experimental, measurable, and causal in order to be intellectually valid — or whether there are forms of knowledge that operate in another register, equally legitimate, oriented toward meaning rather than mere functioning.
